Creating Cinema Atmoshere - Soundtracks from John Debney…

September 4th, 2010 by Mike2GuysTalking

Soundtracks - Film Scores - The people that are responsible for creating great entertainment.

There have been many-an-episode of The 2GuysTalking Podcast that have focused on “sound.” Even more that have focused on soundtrack, but relatively few have brought forth a true architect of the cinematic music realm

I am proud to announce the most recent “Under the Hood” Interviews with IRON MAN 2, PREDATORS and PASSION OF THE CHRIST soundtrack composer John Debney.

John was gracious to offer me the time to interview him where we learn more about “he brings it” to the proverbial cinematic table.

From the true nature of big bangs, overdone special audio effects to future projects, John gives us the details about being one of Hollywood’s most sought-after composers of feature film music.

Share this interview with fellow movie geeks and be sure to t\ell me what YOU think about it!

Over the years, there are few movies that fuel me - that light the inspirational idea fires that carry an afternoon, a concept or effort and Toy Story is truly one of them. In fact, ALL of the Toy Story films, from the first (1995), the Toy Story franchise has illuminated many a night and tonite was no exception!

Hi, I’m Senator Scott Rupp. And I have been fighting for the rights of families and children affected by autism for the past several years.

This year, in Missouri as well as several other states, we’re very close to giving insurance coverage for the treatment of autism. We hope that you will help us make a difference in the lives of millions across the nations and in your state by contacting your state legislators and saying that autism is important to you, and they need to continue the battle.

We want you to log on to the 2GuysTalking website at 2GuysTalking.com/autism. There you’ll find contacts, links, and more to lead the next important stage in our battle against autism.

Thank you for your efforts and your time, and I’m Senator Scott T. Rupp, and I hear the 2GuysTalking effort to stamp out autism.

2GuysTalking is an Internet radio show providing you with entertainment, a sharing of viewpoints, and fun! Join us as we venture into the world of entertainment discussing a variety of topics, from television shows, DVD’s, feature films, and more. This week: 2GuysTalking 24!

[MIKE]

One has to wonder what the 8th season of the hit FOX show 24 would have looked like with just a few writing alterations and a couple of character additions this year. Well, you know what? It would have a lot like this episode—episode 18, of 24 season 8. Ultra-solid pacing, lots of information, the full spectrum of acting across the board, and even the introduction of characters you love to hate from previous seasons!

A fan recently wrote in with a quote that feels terribly appropriate, as we launch this episode of the 2GuysTalking 24 podcast, reviewing episode 18. It reads, “It looks like Palmer will go down as the only president on 24 that truly got what Jack Bauer is. He’s the only one who really understood that Jack is the ‘break glass in case of emergency and get the hell out of the way’ kind of guy. President Taylor is about to see what makes Jack ‘Jack, the relentless pursuit of justice that steamrolls whoever gets in its way—terrorist or president.”

And with that, we start the episode 18 review of 24 season 8 here, on the 2GuysTalking 24 podcast! Sponsored by Sprint’s Relay Missouri, Acoustica’s Mixcraft recording software, and Ability Interpreting.

Pulling Out the Funny from the Constantly Tragic…

April 13th, 2010 by Mike2GuysTalking

Hello: My name is Mike and I am a serial television series addict.

(crowd says, “Hello, Mike…”)

For the last 5 years, I have been breaking down each and every adventure of the venerable, almost super-hero character, Jack Bauer and his hit adventures of 24. While our hour-long discussion 24-centric podcasts truly have fueled me for that time, there is a little bit of golden magic that I am so grateful to “endure” for each of those episodes.

It’s called “The 24-in-60+!”, a quick and humorous general “review” of each and every episode of “24″, corralling all of the pertinent goings-on inside a 44-minute episode in just a few minutes!

This most recent hour of 24 helped me realize just what a gargantuan task creating something quick, funny and entertaining from the generally tragic is. You see, in the last 15 hours, Jack has been separated from his remaining family, shot at, tortured by electrocution, beat on (fists, phone books and twisted rebar remnants) incessantly, been lied to by every manner of person on the planet, survived a point-blank suicide bomber vest, had sex for the first time in over 3 and a half years, and held his newfound-just-had-sex-five-minutes-ago girlfiend as she lays dying from a sniper’s bullet.

Could 13 Be a Truly Unlucky Number for 24?

March 29th, 2010 by Mike2GuysTalking

Could 13 Be a Truly Unlucky Number for 24?
The 24Podcast Lights Candles and Watches for the Canopy!

We previously wondered how last week’s episode was written by the same team of writers because it was that good. This week’s episode clearly has lineage to the two previous episodes - more like the evil, deformed, left in the corner too long pseudo-twin, actually. With a return to lazy writing, instant fixes, impregnable bullet proof vests and yes - yet ANOTHER MOLE, this episode feels the wrath of two guys who tire of the same old same old. What did YOU think? Strap on your flight suit, cue the cheesy “Goose is dead” music, and prepare for the onset of what we think just might be a flat unrecoverable spin for 24.
