“Villains make the best Heroes.” It’s a phrase I’ve heard from a friend over and over. Marvel has made many heroes from this principle–Hawkeye, Black Widow, Rogue and periodically Magneto. Well, Heroes is about to do the same with Sylar, only like Magneto, it shouldn’t work.

What to say about Heroes? Since my last review, a great deal has happened, and yet it doesn’t feel like it amounted to a great deal. One week, I’m think, “cool, finally, they got it right.” Then the next week, we’re back to “yawn.” Finally I realized what the show feels like. Have you ever ridden in a car with someone just learning to drive a car with a manual transmission? It simply isn’t a smooth ride; too many jerky motions.  That’s how the ride this year has felt.

Thanksgiving 2009 comes and goes as does a week devoid of FlashForward. 7 more days pass and a Thursday evening arrives and the 10th episode of FlashForward appears as the 7pm chime arrives. What will this week of FlashForward hold for us? Is the action cocked, locked and ready to rock it’s way into the Xmas season? We’ll find out as we initiate this week’s 2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast for episode 1 - A561984 - here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network.
Listen to it now in Podcast Form now!
– The bell tolling on a different wall: As this week’s episode begins, a clock tower chimes as we pan past a very familiar but different wall inside of our Iranian Mystery Woman’s office. On it are a number of familiar clues and many new ones that we’ve not yet had the chance to review. I’m curious: Those of you that do the whole “freeze frame and put the pics on your Facebook galleries - what do YOU see that’s different? Are they things that are completely unrelated or are they items that we might be familiar with? Her being a world away literally probably means that all of the things that we see that aren’t Agent Noh-based are more than likely different, but what might we expect in the coming weeks? In the new “season?” Let us know by accessing our website at FlashForwardPodcast.Com and tell us the differences, now!
– Being one of the potentially murdered: Wow: Great television shows have a definitive habit of making “groups” of people and this one is another that I think could make for an entire offshoot for a television series that would ROCK. Those that haven’t had FlashForwards (for all intents and purposes) are dead at the time of the FlashForward. but why? Was it chance that took their lives? Were they, like Agent Noh, murdered? Seeing as that they’ve already developed the special group via the FBI for investigations, wouldn’t it follow that they could also do something in the way of an X-Files-based group that did nothing but hunt and investigate the “potential murders” of those that either come to them for help, contact them via the Internet/MOSAIC program or are brought to them by a head agency that sees the people brought to light as people that are “key players?” Doesn’t that sound interesting? Let us know what YOU think of that idea. We know that television is aching for new, innovative storytelling and this idea sounds pretty cool to us!

The 2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast has endured 2 solid weeks of content that leaned torward the particularly gooney side as we weathered two weeks of strangely created ABC-based television. This week, FlashForward provided what we consider their strongest offering in an episode called “The Gift” which truly is a gift. Puzzle pieces abound, twisty-turns await and an individual determined to showcase that fate can be guided differently than what every one sees in late April makes the boldest statement possible. All this and more awaits in this episode of The 2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast…

This review, like many of my online feature film and television review podcasts, will be done in a “stream of consciousness” format, providing you essentially what I think as the episode airs. Follow along to the points provided herein and be sure to chime in and tell us what YOU think of this episode of FlashForward…
– Prelogue: The entry into this episode was another different offering and it makes me wonder if they’re just kind of test firing the beginning of each episode to see what kind of launch they like at the beginning of the episodes. This one is much stronger than the last two weeks to be sure and considering the subject matter in this episode, it’s terribly appropriate. If we look at the launch of episode one, two and three, this falls in line with those in 4th place. In OUR opinion, episode two and three had the strongest openings to date.
– Dear Celia: For those that aren’t familiar with how our podcasts are created, we’ll watch the episode, make notes and then come back and flesh in the bullet points that are then conveyed enthusasitically into each of the points of the podcast. Celia, referred to here, is one of the most stark representations of the power of this program and something that we’ll detail later on in this review podcast. Needless to say, their storytelling kung fu in this episode is strong.

In all the years I’ve watched Heroes, I’ve experienced a variety of emotions. Some episodes thrilled, some disappointed. Others made me wonder and some were basically boring. “Once upon a time in Texas” was the first time an episode ticked me off. Read the rest of this entry »

Heroes “Strange Attractor” tried to give us a little bit of horror, a little bit of Sylar and a little more insight into the Carnival. It succeeded in two of those areas.

Today’s review will look at the last two chapters of Heroes, chapters four and five. First, “Acceptance” chapter four; I don’t know what to say. A nice story; made sense, but even the intense part was, at best, just OK. No, not bad, just nothing striking.
