I think those of us around the Television Review Blogs parts can agree on the fact that X Files was one of the greatest shows in TV history. And I think those same folks would agree that “Jose Chung’s From Outer Space” was easily one of the greatest episodes in the show’s history. With that, I’d like to acknowledge the death of Charles Nelson Rielly who brought us the character of Jose Chung, as well as numerous other tv characters from the 1960s on. I wanted to share this video of my friends Robin and Sarah interviewing Jose Chung himself on the “green carpet” at the X Files wrap party in 2002. RIP, Jose Chung. You will be missed.

reluctant to say the least. I mean it is hot outside and, if you live in the South, the humidity will drive you inside so quickly heads spin.
So what do you watch? That’s the dilemna that is facing me. I honestly have a hard time with repeats of shows that I never watched in the first place. I’ve see all the HOUSE episodes so where does that leave me — with reality? Oh no!
Granted I will watch HELL’S KITCHEN and TOP CHEF. It makes me feel good about my own cooking when I watch shows where people are worse than I am or think they are better than anyone else and get put in their place. Heck, I’ll probably also watch most of the AMERICA’S GOT TALENT episodes. I’ll catch the new episodes of EUREKA on Sci Fi and probably season three of the new DOCTOR WHO but it still leaves viewing time up for grabs. One thing I plan to do is go back and watch the first season of BONES and probably SMALLVILLE.Â
So my question to you today is: “What will you watch?” Tell us please so we know what’s on the tube!

(Apologies on the tardiness of this review…irony or not, my own job has kept me from writing a timely review of “The Job”)
Ba da bum bum bum, another one bites the dust. The third season of The Office ends what was to me a lackluster season with a bang. This season has had it’s share of misfires (Jim leaving Scranton, becoming more story driven instead of just gag driven, etc.) but the one hour installment of and ending hit all the right notes….progressed the narrative without giving up the gags, gave us not one but two big twists, and set Dunder Mifflin Scranton up for it’s fourth season. Just as LOST has us asking, “Is it February yet?!”, The Office has us asking, “Oh man! Is it September yet?!” Read the rest of this entry »

I’d like to thank everyone that’s chimed in via our last two 2GuysTalking: 24 Podcast episode review shows! The outpouring has been wonderful and we’re excited to hear both ends of the spectrum!
I found this note on one of TRB’s Affiliate sites, 24HQ, and I thought I’d share it! It’s great news AND folks - if they pull it off it just may be one of the best “24″ seasons ever. It really IS telling when we have the co-producer of the show telling us how the next season will be a significant departure.
“The Most Definitive Thing So Far About S7
This is in the 5/23 print issue of TV Guide. It’s not online (yet?), so there’s no link. I’ve transcribed it word-for-word.
Where’s Jack Bauer going to start Hour 1 of next season on 24?
Co-Exec producer Manny Coto says:
Jack starts next season in a very different place than any season so far. Let’s put it this way: I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s no CTU next year. CTU has almost become too comfortable, you know? “We need to carry out this operation - Chloe, grab satellite X and get us a feed!” That’s gone.
We’re pulling the rug out from under our characters. It’s a pretty radical shift - a totally different context with a totally different villain. There will not be a ticking clock on a nuclear device. We’re hewing much closer to real life: tighter, more personal, more difficult for Jack.
There may even be a plot thread that doesn’t take place on U.S. soil.
In a sense, it’s a reboot - in location and personnel. We’re going to be introducing a new stable of characters, along with a couple of old ones. Jack’s not living under an alias. He’s found a place he thinks he belongs and a job he enjoys doing that doesn’t involve the government.
What’s also refreshing is the choice of villain: it’s not a Muslim terrorist. In fact, it’s not a terrorist at all. And the character is fascinating, someone with a supremely dark past who’s done something horrific. And whose ambition is to regain his stature in the world. I just can’t say enough how exciting it is. It’s going to be pretty damn cool.
Let’s let everyone digest this and we’ll let the comments/predictions/mourning begin.”

May 24th, 2007 by KIP LEWIS
For those of you who haven’t followed Smallville this year, a quick recap. The season begins with General Zod in Lex’s body and Clark trapped in the Phantom Zone. Clark’s escape from the zone wasn’t a solo venture. Several others escaped, which made up one of the two threats we saw this year.
The other threat was Lex. After being freed from Zod’s possession, he became obsessed with creating super- soldiers. Clark ends up teaming with Green Arrow, Impulse, Aquaman and Cyborg-a proto Justice League of America to fight this threat, but mostly, they go at it alone and off-screen. Clark goes after the Phantom Zoners; not doesn’t fair to well either. He needed help twice and lucked out the other times.
Meanwhile, Lana is tricked and forced into marriage to Lex. He tricks into think she is pregnant by giving her a cocktail of hormones to simulate pregnancy. When she wants to back out of the wedding (because she really loves Clark), Lionel threatens to kill Clark. Oh, and she now knows his secret.
Chloe gets a boy-friend, finally, Jimmy Olsen. (Yeah, Jimmy Olsen, the cub reporter who is supposed to be like ten years younger than Clark, not the same age.) Then she finds out she is also a meteor freak like her mother, but she doesn’t know what her power is.
Martha gets a promotion to a US Senator to replace one who was killed. (She isn’t returning next year. At least that ends the Lionel/Martha daliences. They do not go together.)
And mid-season we were introduced to the Martian Manhunter. He isn’t called that in the show, but we comic fans know a Martian when we see one; especially when they are addicted to Orero cookies. Now that you are caught up, last Thursday aired Phantoms; season six finale.
