Medium - Getting Away with Murder
I thought this week’s episode was good. It was kind of like eating a home-cooked burger when you really wanted a Big Mac – satisfying, but not exactly the ultimate experience.

Saturday Night Live was the first show to return post strike this week and the sketch that everyone is talking about, and by “everyone” I mean that I’m making everyone I know watch it, was Tina Fey’s contribution to Weekend Update.
Regardless of your political leanings, Tina brings another opinion to the table with style, grace, and relentless humor. Best female writer around? Yeah, deal with it.
Jennifer Smith’s favorite show, the Tina Fey run 30 Rock returns to the airways along with the rest of the NBC comedy block in early April. Whoop whoop!

THE TEASE!
If I had to sum up tonight’s episode in one word, it would be ”Kate.” If I had to choose two, it would be ”Dharma bums.” Three words? They would be ”Deals with devils.” And if I had to pick four or more, I’d say, ”Let’s just ask executive producer Damon Lindelof.”
”Remember last week when you were left wondering if Ben was a member of the Oceanic 6? Well, the last line of dialogue of this episode will cause the fans to ask a very similar question.”
Okay, since you brought it up, Damon: Is Ben a member of the Oceanic 6?
”Nothing precludes him from being a member of the Oceanic 6 — other than he wasn’t on the plane,” says Lindelof. ”But he does have a room full of documents and passports. He could have just, you know, done some research and doctored some records and adopted the identity of someone on the plane — someone with no family or friends who would know otherwise. So who’s to say he isn’t?”
So…when will we know for certain?
”By the end of the seventh episode, the audience will now know who the Oceanic 6 are.”
Well, whaddyaknow: a Doc Jensen column with some genuinely useful information for a change! And guess what? We’re just getting started.
”Sometimes, a bracelet is just a bracelet.”

That was it. This is the end of season 3, just at the point where the entire thing was turning strong and interesting again. We all know that the cut short season is due to the writer’s strike, but nevertheless, it was beginning to be at its high and this end is leaving us with a bitter sour taste. I cannot help but thinking if they were planning from the beginning for season 3 to have only 13 episodes. If this episode was filmed / written before the strike, then how could they make it feel like a season’s ending? Loose ends are tight, the original goal is achieved, and the cliffhanger is here to promote the story to the next season.

From their first appearance in season one; polar bears have become a strange and important part of “Lost” mythology.
Perhaps the earliest indicator that things are not always as they seem on “Lost,” the survivors of Oceanic Air Flight 815 encountered a polar bear in the second episode of the series.
Later, in the season, a polar bear could be seen in one of Hurley’s comic books, which was read by Walt, shortly before the plane crash.
The bears returned with a vengeance in season two when fighting polar bears appeared in the “orientation” film discovered in the aircraft’s hatch. Further into the season, Locke saved Mr. Eko from a polar bear after one of white-haired beasts appeared in a sweat-lodge vision.
The polar bear appearances slowed down in season three, but were referred to when Tom remarked to Sawyer that their cages once held bears. Penny’s father, Charles Widmore, was also seen with a polar bear painting in his office while interviewing Desmond.
Stuffed toy polar bears have appeared in flashbacks: either being given as a present by Michael to Walt, appearing in a crib along with the sold-out members of “Driveshaft,” or held by a patient inside the Santa Rosa Mental Health facility.

I was really impressed with the creativity of the concept of this week’s episode, “Do You Hear What I Hear.” Allison is receiving dreams about a deaf girl who has been kidnapped, and as a side-effect, Allison becomes deaf herself. I really thought that was a great idea.
