It’s the franchise that has launched almost as many stars as there are in the sky, with a cast of characters that come to us as new but familiar. Will push-backed release dates, casting a series of reasonably unknowns, and a director known for his quick-cuts and jostled-camera wrangling lock phasers on target and kill one of the longest-running science fiction franchises in history?
The 2GuysTalking Podcast welcomes guest reviewer and fellow Trek aficionado Paul Spataro to this review of the most recent incarnation of “STAR TREK”, which graced theaters on STARDATE: 200906.03.

After watching the final two hours I can say but one word: marvelous.
They were the two most intense episodes of the whole season. And heartbreaking in the end.
I know there are many fans out there who think that the ending sucked, because of Michael’s death. I didn’t want him either to die. But it was the natural course of the things. Since Sara was pregnant they had two options, as I said before; end it happily ever after, or end it bitterly. They chose the second one. It is totally believable that Michael did not get over the brain tumor, even after the surgery he had. As much technology the General might had, he is not God, and the tumors especially in the brain are tricky ones.
Even if some believe that Michael is not dead after all, I think he is. It is the finale. All the lose ends are tied up. General got what he deserved in the electric chair, T-Bag too, and the rest of our guys got on with their lives. Only Gretchen was missing from the picture, but most probably she ended up in a prison.
The scene by Michael’s tomb was really heartbreaking as was the scene with him and Sara holding tight in the beach. But it was nicely done even if it left us with tears in our eyes. I think it was one of the best endings I’ve even seen in TV series. Not hastily done and very well executed.
I would have loved Michael to live, but I don’t know how much a fairy-tale ending would be fit. This one felt so much like Prison Break.

It’s hard to believe that half of May has already passed by, but alas, here we are in the 7th week of Spike’s The Ultimate Fighter on Spike! The UK is ahead 3-2 in the country vs. country tally and this week it looks as though we’ve got an ultra-zealous couple of fighters ready to bang! It’s time for the review of a series that continues to satisfy, and brings even more shining examples of what makes up the realm of Mixed Martial Arts and is the televised test tube of the TRULY SavageScience!
As with many of my online reviews, I’ll be reviewing this episode in a “stream of consciousness” format, giving you essentially what I’m thinking as the show airs. I encourage everyone to send feedback in regard to any of the points below and let’s use this opportunity sounding-off point to tell us what YOU think about this year’s Ultimate Fighter season.
– Matter of fact fight launch? It looks as though without any announcement in general, we’re going to see the UK’s stud, Dave Faulkner vs. Jason Pierce, and right off the bat. that’s an interesting change of pace that I hadn’t anticipated, but seeing as though they’re the remaining welterweights I guess that makes sense.
– Pardon me, Would you please pass the Impetigo? Yet another infection lights The Ultimate Fighter stage, this time it’s not anything floating around the self-proclaimed talking wonder rod, Cameron Dollar, its RITCHIE! One of my favorites that we haven’t really seen in weeks and we may have just found out WHY! He’s got a case of something called “impetigo”, a bacterial infection that can be read more about here:

Show Title: Ultimate Fighter United States V United Kingdom: Week 6

The 9th season of Spike’s “The Ultimate Fighter” is screaming by and we’re 6 episodes in! This week provides us with another opportunity to see two fights, the answer to “where the hell was Bisping” last episode, and more sweet irony than you can swallow (and one of the fighters DOES!). It’s another review of a satisfying series dedicated to mixed martial arts, it’s fighters and the love of the TRULY SavageScience!
As with many of my online reviews, I’ll be reviewing this episode in a “stream of consciousness” format, giving you essentially what I’m thinking as the show airs. I encourage everyone to send feedback in regard to any of the points below and let’s use this opportunity as a rallying and sounding-off point as I begin this week’s detailing of a sample of televised SavageScience:
– Bisping standing alone to be grilled out his absence? As this episode starts, we see Bisping standing center circle and I’m ready to hear how he was fighting Yeti in the northern California frozen tundra! That he as fighting off wild wolves as he made his way back with the heaping carcass and only just got back and hey - here’s YOUR yeti steakloin! Apparently I’m completely dreaming and wouldn’t ever have the opportunity to see those things because he’s not there to explain away his absence, he’s just making the first fight announcement for this week’s episode. I think that Dana and company really missed the opportunity to make sure that no one else in The Ultimate Fighter history, especially a coach, ever misses a fight.

We are approaching the end. Tomorrow we will see the final two episodes. No more Prison Break after that. It was good to have Michael and team for 4 whole seasons and follow closely their adventures. Of course, we fans, always want more, but let’s face it, this is not always possible. Someone might say that there are series out there that don’t deserve a second season but already have more than that. I know how you all must feel, Prison Break was my favourite show too, but I don’t think Fox will change its mind and go for another season. The decision is final.
