Last season, I said that what Heroes was missing is the human factor. Season One told the story of various people struggling with the discovery and use of powers. All the story threads came together in a climax at the end of the season. But the end did not dominate the season.
The later seasons missed this by making the overarching storylines dominate the individual chapters. This season looks like they are returning to the original formula.

Fast Freddie’s Castle of Common Sense: Episode 34: ZERO TOLERANCE
Listen to All of the Episodes of The Castle of Common Sense Podcast Now
Come on in to the castle, Ladies and Gents. Sit by the warm fire and warm your toes.
Tonight’s subject is entitled, “ZERO TOLERANCE.”
A major attack on our collective common sense has quietly been conceived and implemented as we carried on our endless debates over abortion, gun control, crime, same sex marriage, taxes, bad economy, war , liberal vs. conservative, and so forth. While we made sweeping, simplistic statements over coffee and cocktails on how to solve all of these social problems with our own version of a single “magic bullet”, our Governments and institutions began to establish a frame work within schools and many other organizations to ensure fair and ethical behavior for all. In other words, while most agreed that there was no single magic bullet to solve all of our problems, we are going to begin to implement this new one because “it can’t hurt” and “will help put us back on track.”

As Smallville enters its 9th year, many of us are wondering why they even bothered. The show hit its height years ago, then it started going downhill while it turned dark and morbid. Singular stories gave way to season long epics. Sadly, the more they tried, the more it fell apart.
Last season ended with Jimmy Olson dead, Lois lost in time and Clark “quits” being Clark for the most unbelievable of reasons: a human Clark rescued became Jim’s murderer. A disillusioned hero abandons his humanity.

Mid-season last year, ABC introduced the latest “comedy-drama based in the police genre called Castle. My initial response was that this is just another police show of the style of the Mentalist, which I do enjoy.
But after watching a couple of shows, this is fast becoming a favorite of mine. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve been compiling a series of reports for over a year now, detailing which advertisements and companies have and haven’t taken the time to close caption their commercials on television. Whether it’s feature films, car companies, local news agencies or even political movements, you can now go to ONE place to get the scoop on the current caption climate in American entertainment. It’s the 2GuysTalking Caption Hunt.
Our efforts have also been noticed by a number of organizations that are now sponsors to the program who allow us to continue our Caption Hunt effort. Please do visit them when you get the chance and thank them for their support! Without them we couldn’t do it!
Fan the effort on Facebook now by clicking here! We’d love to know what YOU think!

It’s no secret that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was supposed to be the first “Blockbuster film of summer” - and wasn’t. While it offered some visually striking scenes, and frankly, more Wolverine, there was a lot left that didn’t stoke the fires of love in the house of Wolverine fans everywhere.
While our coverage of the movie conveyed all you’ll need to know about the feature film in general, what follows is a special Screen Rant review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine‘s Blu-ray Special Features - an invasive, probing, look at the details NOT included on the regular DVD offerings, that promises to be at least as sharp as the steel tendrils that pumped adamantium into Wolverine himself. So like Wolverine, strap in, get prepped and ready as we crack the Blu-ray special features realm wide open here at Screen Rant.

Marie writes
“Mike,
I was reading your testimonial about (Mixcraft). I am looking for an EASY was just to mix a few song. I am a dance teacher and a mixed song is so much fun to dance to. I have been looking at all linds of software and wondered if you had any recommendations. I use itunes and have looked at Garage Band from Mac. I like Garage Band because it seemed very user friendly. Any advice would be wonderful.
Marie in Lake Island”
Thanks for taking the time to write 2GuysTalking, Marie.
Something that we’ve been using pretty much since day 1, is Acoustica’s Mixcraft. Essentially, it’s one of the best tools on the market that too few people know about. It’s incredibly inexpensive, and offers many industry standards but doesn’t make it hard on people who are new to the sound mixing game. There is a great 30-day trial download available at the Mixcraft website here:
http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft
that will get you a nice period of time to get your feet wet on it. Unlike ProTools, a program that cost hundreds of dollars, Mixcraft provides you even more options and “tools” for only $68. Be sure to tell them that 2GuysTalking sent you!

So begins the fourth year of Heroes. Before beginning my review of the opening episodes of this season, I have to digress.
When Heroes first came on the TV four years ago, I eagerly awaited it. Likewise for season 2. But by season 3 part 1, I was less eager and by the second half of the third year, I was not caring.
Now season 4 is here, and I find myself even less looking forward to it. The spoilers I’ve heard have dampened my enthusiasm even more so.
I have avoided most of this season spoilers, but two made it through. (These are spoilers so be forewarn.)
