The 2GuysTalking Transcripted Podcast: Screen Rant Style!
Episode 6:
The Cameron Cornucipia - The Value of James Cameron
A Complete Review of Movies Directed by James Cameron in a Prelude to Avatar
We are on the cusp of the debut of one of Hollywood’s most anticipated releases in years, James Cameron’s Avatar. With concern about being the “most expensive movie in feature film history” and its likening to the wars overseas (essentially a movie-inspired take on the conquest of big oil over the small but feisty, native inhabitants of “Pandora”), there is a lot for Avatar and James Cameron to overcome even before its official release. Like most things however, one can find many potential answers from a review of the previous history of just about anything. Whether it’s the potential of a person to pay back money they might receive or the value to be reaped from a multi-million dollar blockbuster, answers can be found in what’s come before.
We’ll take a look at the movie history of director James Cameron to showcase how they succeeded, and what those trends mean for Avatar – a film that could be one of the most ground-breaking films all time or a very expensive, experimental crash-and-burn experience for James Cameron.
If you ask anyone interested in movies to name a film by director James Cameron, the listing is filled with staples in feature film lore. The Internet Movie Database allows visitors to populate a listing of directorial showcases for Cameron that make the mind reel…

Those of you that have seen the recent Star Trek feature film might have noticed that one of the many famous Trek-based races was terribly absent. It wasn’t the Andorians, it was everyone’s favorite protruding-foreheaded extraterrestrials, the Klingons.
While they were missed in this recent revisit to characters and stories of the United Federation of Planet’s future, you can now talk to those you like (or dislike) - in Klingon, via Twitter.
A new website joins the always-growing army of tools available on the web to enhance your Twitter experience. TweetInKlingon.Com allows you to send your 140-character messages - translated in Klingon.
Having been part of organized Star Trek Fandom for more than 15 years, I know this new tool will excite many, and horrify even more. I am one of few people on planet Earth who can claim friends that can “speak” Klingon. Will you join their ranks? Do you wish to ridicule them?
Then your first stop should be to TweetinKlingon.Com to begin your alien-language adventure.

(Good luck, live long and prosper and tell them that Screen Rant sent you!)

Thanksgiving 2009 comes and goes as does a week devoid of FlashForward. 7 more days pass and a Thursday evening arrives and the 10th episode of FlashForward appears as the 7pm chime arrives. What will this week of FlashForward hold for us? Is the action cocked, locked and ready to rock it’s way into the Xmas season? We’ll find out as we initiate this week’s 2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast for episode 1 - A561984 - here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network.
Listen to it now in Podcast Form now!
– The bell tolling on a different wall: As this week’s episode begins, a clock tower chimes as we pan past a very familiar but different wall inside of our Iranian Mystery Woman’s office. On it are a number of familiar clues and many new ones that we’ve not yet had the chance to review. I’m curious: Those of you that do the whole “freeze frame and put the pics on your Facebook galleries - what do YOU see that’s different? Are they things that are completely unrelated or are they items that we might be familiar with? Her being a world away literally probably means that all of the things that we see that aren’t Agent Noh-based are more than likely different, but what might we expect in the coming weeks? In the new “season?” Let us know by accessing our website at FlashForwardPodcast.Com and tell us the differences, now!
– Being one of the potentially murdered: Wow: Great television shows have a definitive habit of making “groups” of people and this one is another that I think could make for an entire offshoot for a television series that would ROCK. Those that haven’t had FlashForwards (for all intents and purposes) are dead at the time of the FlashForward. but why? Was it chance that took their lives? Were they, like Agent Noh, murdered? Seeing as that they’ve already developed the special group via the FBI for investigations, wouldn’t it follow that they could also do something in the way of an X-Files-based group that did nothing but hunt and investigate the “potential murders” of those that either come to them for help, contact them via the Internet/MOSAIC program or are brought to them by a head agency that sees the people brought to light as people that are “key players?” Doesn’t that sound interesting? Let us know what YOU think of that idea. We know that television is aching for new, innovative storytelling and this idea sounds pretty cool to us!

For a few months now, all I could hear from a number of my friends is how good “Glee” is. I must admit that I resisted watching the show. It just didn’t sound like the type of show I would like. I like singing and I like Broadway tunes, but a show about high school students singing? Well, it was just not my cup of tea, so I thought. Besides, Wednesdays I committed myself to watch ABC comedies.
I’m a frequent Twitterer, and among my friends, the word was out: “Glee,” they said was an amazing show. So, when Episode 2, was on the air, at about 9:30 pm, I clicked onto my local FOX channel to witness what the buzz was all about. Well, I was appalled. I saw actors dancing and singing suggestive sexual songs. “Is this what the buzz is all about?” I thought to myself. “Glee” is not for me. Read the rest of this entry »
