V “There is No Normal Anymore”
In the second episode of V, “There is No Normal Any More”, the picture of the “invasion” grows a little clearer and the danger grows closer and I’m enjoying the show even more.
In this episode we learn some more about the traitors among the V, as Ryan touches bases with another V who has gone native. While this one turns out to be a paranoid one, justifiably paranoid, but still paranoid, there is a strong indication that they may be not alone.Â
Meanwhile FBI Agent Erica is trying to juggle protecting her son from the Vs and figuring out just how big this alien conspiracy is. In the first episode she learned that her partner of seven years was a Visitor and now she has to cover her tracks in his disappearance. She does so by being honest, in part. She paints him as a rgular mole for a terrorist organization, just not the V in disguise kind. Things will heat up when she realizes that he isn’t dead.
The priest, Father Jack is coming to grips with what he must do–fight back. With Erica, a center of a new resistance is forming. Yeah, a new resistance. More on that in a moment.
Meanwhile, Tyler, Erica’s son, is falling into the Visitor named Lisa’s web. I’m curious as to where this will lead. Will the alien girl end up falling into her own trap and side with humanity? Will the boy betray his people and his mother or will he just be a simple pawn in some strange experiment. (Hmmm, maybe she gets pregnant and he fights to get his son away from the aliens. Where have I seen that storyline before?)
On another front, the reporter Chad is using his pulpit to manipulate Anna and the American people, which i find kind of funny. He is so angry with himself for allowing Anna to dictate his previous interview, that he believes has incorrectly influenced to the American public. So, what does he do? He turns around and manipulates the American public so he can excert some form of control over Anna. He acts like he does this for the benefit of mankind, yet really he is only interested in his career. What will make this character work in the long term is if he stays in the role of playing all sides against each other for his personal gain.Â
From the V side of thing, something interesting was stated; there is a previous resistance on earth and they fear a new one forming. Who were they? How did they come into existence?  Also, we still don’t know why the aliens are here. In the original they were after earth’s resources and people as a food source. Personally, looking back, I kind of found that strange. Why would they go after people as a food source, when there are so many other animals on earth that humanity would gladly share? It seemed like there were only three things the Vs wanted to eat–mice, birds and people. It seemed short-sighted; the way they were going, the earth would be useless in a manner of years. There was no long term planning. Hopefully, there is more to these Visitor’s plans.Â
I wonder if they still want to eat people. They seem to like sleeping with humans.
All in all, the writers are giving us a plenty of material to work with as the conspiracies, the plots, the positioning, are all move into place.  The pacing is a little slow, but it works.  I’m looking forward to this show as unfolds.

I agree with you. There was so much action and information in these two episodes. I’m really looking forward to Tuesdays.

Thanks for making me laugh! I think the true odds of inter-planetary sex are very slim, but this often comes up in movies and TV shows about aliens. Humans can be very silly.

Ah, that’s because men think they can score with anyone. But that is balanced against the universal fear of the “other” getting our women.
Yeah–humans are silly.
