Contact us today! ] - (View Comments — Register to Comment ) — An exciting and edgy real-time action series about U.S. counterterrorist agent Jack Bauer trying to save his country from foreign and domestic enemies in the course of 24 grueling hours (with each hour a separate episode). The series took a great concept and executed it superbly, juggling taut storylines with forceful performances and a stylish, gritty look. Which made it easier to forgive some of the more foolish and implausible subplots, most involving Jack’s crisis-magnet daughter, Kim. Unlike its `Star Wars’-influenced predecessor, this `Galactica’ is a decidedly grim saga that portrays the Cylons as creatures that rebelled against their creators, who soon discover their foe can infiltrate their `ragtag fugitive fleet’ by taking human form. Hawkins, a 31-year-old inmate who can walk through walls, Matt Parkman, a beat cop who can hear other people’s thoughts, and Claire Bennet, a 17-year-old cheerleader who defies death at every turn. His staff includes his arrogant, driven kiss-up assistant; a likable but bored sales rep who amuses himself by getting on the assistant’s nerves; and the personable receptionist who bears the brunt of the boss’s bad jokes. The Shield stars Michael Chiklis (The Commish) as rogue cop “Det. Vic Mackey,” leader of the elite Strike Team unit, who is effective at eliminating crime but who operates under his own set of rules. Benito Martinez (Outbreak & Her Costly Affair) plays “Captain David Aceveda,” the young precinct head who doesn’t like Mackey’s tactics and wants to bust him off the force. And the Emmy-nominated CCH Pounder (ER & Boycott), plays “Det. Claudette Wyms,” a veteran detective who understands Mackey and knows how to play both sides of the fence. Contact us today! ] Meet Tony Soprano: your average, middle-aged businessman, who just happens to be the leader of the Organized Italian Mob. Tony’s family grows it’s own kind of wings each episode and the final partial season is here. Tony’s got a dutiful wife, a not-so-dutiful son, a well-meaning daughter named Meadow, an uncle who’s lost his marbles, a variety of mistresses, and of course a shrink to tell all his secrets to. We look forward to HBO making up for what was a very lackluster arrival of new and quirkly episodes last year with this new mini-set. Initially, the castaways are divided into four ethnically diverse groups (African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, white). Also, at least one player per episode is banished to a separate island to live alone, but on Exile Island there is a hidden immunity idol that, if found, can save a person from being voted out at tribal council. The series is a kind of modern-day variation on Nancy Drew, but with considerable more attitude, style, mood and sophistication. First-year ratings were disappointing, but `Mars’ has its loyal following among critics and viewers, and UPN renewed it for a second season.
