FlashForward Delayed - Again...
January 8, 2010 -
FlashForward fans will have a decidedly unwelcome,
longer wait for the return of their favorite science
fiction thriller on ABC. Today the announcement came
ABC will delay the return of the FlashForward 2 full
weeks - from the previously scheduled March 4th to
March 18th.
FlashFoward will then air continuously through to
it's finale on May 27th. The Spring return on the
18th will now be two full hours - with the finale
also being two-hours. For those wondering, this move
was made to help avoid rating destruction via
American Idol, which will now air on both March 4th
and 11th.

FlashForward Completes for the Calendar year
26
Min.
"Thanksgiving 2009
comes and goes as does a week devoid of FlashForward. 7 more days pass
and a Thursday evening arrives and the 10th episode of FlashFoward
appears as the 7pm chime arrives. What will this week of FlashForward
hold for us? Is the action cocked, locked and ready to rock it's way
into the Xmas season? We'll find out as we initiate this week's
2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast for episode 1 - A561984 - here on The
2GUysTalking Podcast Network.
-- The bell tolling on a different wall: As this week's episode
begins, a clock tower chimes as we pan past a very familiar but
different wall inside of our Iranian Mystery Woman's office. On it are a
number of familiar clues and many new ones that we've not yet had the
chance to review. I'm curious: Those of you that do the whole "freeze
frame and put the pics on your Facebook galleries - what do YOU see
that's different? Are they things that are completely unrelated or are
they items that we might be familiar with? Her being a world away
literally probably means that all of the things that we see that aren't
Agent Noh-based are more than likely different, but what might we expect
in the coming weeks? In the new "season?" Let us know by accessing our
website at FlashForwardPodcast.Com and tell us the differences, now!"

Episode 9 -
Believe - and we DO!
FlashForward Continues a Solid Showing...
20
Min.
"As the holiday weeks
approach, we're given a dramatic LOST-like revisit to the realm of
FlashForward. A dabble in the land of the rising sun, more subtitled
foreign-language brilliance and an explanation for past hopelessness
that makes an overall character picture become crystal clear - almost.
It's time to the 2GuysTalking: FlashForward Podcast review of "Believe"
an episode of ABC's new hit show, FlashForward here on The 2GuysTalking
Podcast Network!
This review, like many of my online feature film and television review
podcasts, will be done in a "stream of consciousness" format, providing
you essentially what I think as the episode airs. Follow along to the
points provided herein and be sure to chime in and tell us what YOU
think of this episode of FlashForward...
-- An Explanation: Bryce has Cancer: Explaining optimism: I truly
happy that we're finally given some explanation of Bryce's immense
depression, his almost-suicide, his overzealous optimism and some
perspective. Cancer, especially the kind that's showcased here can play
havoc with anyone's emotions and thought processes and we're center
stage as we experience it here. It's taken 2 months for us to get it,
but it's very welcome here in week 9 of FlashForward."

Playing Cards with Coyote
FlashForward Continues a Great Series of Storytelling
10
Min.
"FlashForward reaches it's
8th week, and sends through another round of puzzle pieces, drama and
threats galore as we collect more story in the days leading up to late
April. Will there be answers this episode? Yes! Will those answers
create more questions? Yes! Will be find satisfaction in this episode?
If we tell you now you won't listen to the rest of the episode, will
you? All this and more awaits you in this podcast review episode of The
2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast.

Let's get straight to the 2GuysTalking: FlashForward Podcast A complete
review of episode 8, Playing Cards with Coyote:
-- Another Dear Celia: How did he know her address? While I
suppose we can figure that - like Facebook - MOSAIC allows you to put in
your physical street address, or that we can just figure that Al was
after all an FBI agent, I still wonder how did he find her address to
send the letter?
--A Daughter Found: WOW! A quick bit of kudos to the casting crew
for hiring amputee actors that are helping to approximate this young
lady's war injury. It's great to see them pull the veil over our eyes on
things like this and I thought it was handled wonderfully. I am terribly
curious to see what awaits us in regard to her story. I'm hoping for
something other than the bad, paramilitary group and while I hold out
hope for something original, the details shown in previous episodes (and
later in this one) are causing the hope meter to waiver."

The
Gift - Which is TRULY a Gift...
FlashForward Returns to Solid Form
18
Min.
"The 2GuysTalking
FlashForward Podcast has endured 2 solid weeks of content that leaned
toward the particularly gooney side as we weathered two weeks of
strangely created ABC-based television. This week, FlashForward provided
what we consider their strongest offering in an episode called "The
Gift" which truly is a gift. Puzzle pieces abound, twisty-turns await
and an individual determined to showcase that fate can be guided
differently than what every one sees in late April makes the boldest
statement possible. All this and more awaits in this episode of The
2GuysTalking FlashForward Podcast...

think of this episode of FlashForward...
-- Prelogue: The entry into this episode was another different
offering and it makes me wonder if they're just kind of test firing the
beginning of each episode to see what kind of launch they like at the
beginning of the episodes. This one is much stronger than the last two
weeks to be sure and considering the subject matter in this episode,
it's terribly appropriate. If we look at the launch of episode one, two
and three, this falls in line with those in 4th place. In OUR opinion,
episode two and three had the strongest openings to date."

The
Gooney Crap-O-Meter Arriveth
Quick ABC - Pull back on the stick!
16
Min.
"It's been a week since I
considered using the word "gooney" to describe FlashForward on ABC to a
friend not yet familiar with it, and this week's serving falls into
somewhat of the same category. What kind of groundwork is being laid
here? Surely Dominic Monaghan is doing some interesting groundwork and
the story has a ton of drama that begins to bubble-over as the episode
concludes. Are we seeing cracks in the brilliance of a new series on
ABC? we'll investigate that and more during this episode of The
2GuysTalking: FlashForward Podcast on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network!

— Quantum physicist genius picture idea: We see series newcomer
Dominic Monaghan asking a clearly future conquest to look up his
photograph on the Internet. Simply "put in Quantum Physicist Genius and
tell me what comes up first..." This looks to be the PERFECT marketing
device for the FlashForward Podcast from 2GuysTalking and we'll have
some special images put on to the web for search engines to find and
lead you and others to our ongoing fun here at The FlashFoward Podcast
for sure!"

Gimme' Some Truth
Where did our FlashForward on ABC go this week?
22
Min.
"Mike Wilkerson
un-holsters his electrified pencil and takes aim at this week’s
FlashForward Podcast review! Week 5, “Gimme’ Some Truth” begins with a
strange FlashForward of it’s own. A courtroom conclusion, arguments from
previously cool headed waters, and a black van with Asian guns ready to
put a variety of holes into familiar foreheads! All this, an explosion
with no discernible series of conclusions and more starts off this
week’s 2GuysTalking FlashForward podcast!

— Perspective Tales: One of the most important traits of
entertainment that I’ve come to revel in over my many years of
television and feature film review is that success is often based (for
good or for bad) on the pacing of a project. To date, FlashForward has
nailed pacing into some great final showcases in regard to the previous
four episodes. This episode takes a different tack and ends up showing
us something much nearer to the conclusion FIRST, and then vaults into
“how did we get here” mode of pacing. I’m not sure it’s going to work
here. Even though this show is essentially a “time travel” piece that
provides contents that we will eventually connect like dots to make a
clearer and defined picture later on, I think moving to this kind of
pacing for this show is a bad move and almost lends the feel of having a
gimmick. Cold Case is able to pull of something in the same vein each
episode, but that show is based on a significant period of time passing
between the initial “murder” and the solving of the Cold Case. I’m
hoping this is a test of the FlashForward audience waters and I’d
recommend that we all respond with a clear cut “not so much”... "

Episode 4 -
Black Swan
It's
time to review the fourth of FlashForward on ABC...
18
Min.
"A dash of
over-the-top drama speckles the 5th week of ABC's Flashforward. Is this
the hiccup we were waiting for in earlier episodes? Has a the strong,
driving story hit a speed bump in this episode? What details and puzzle
pieces await in this episode, "Black Swan" that will help flesh out the
picture that awaits us in late April, 2010? It's time once again to
breakdown the thoughts we had here for you and ask you what YOU thought
of this episode of ABC's FlashForward.
As with many of my online reviews, I'll be providing you with a
stream-of-consciousness, point by point series of items that give you
essentially what I'm thinking of as the show airs. I encourage everyone
to take the time to chime in on each but also to bring up your own and
to talk more about this and future episodes in the discussion area
below!
Let the review and discussion of episode 4, "Black Swan" of ABC's
FlashForward begin!
-- Strange Opening: Had I not been watching this program from the
beginning of the season, I might have mistaken this opening for a
strange, avante garde credit card commercial or identity theft or an
investment overview about risk and "avoiding the unthinkable." With a
strangely sedate musical interlude, we see "the blackout" happening in
slow motion as mayhem ensues with the focus finally zeroing in on a bus
pushing forth into a waterway and sinking quickly. A man (who we now
know is Ned Ned) comes to with headphones blaring on his head and helps
one of many people trapped inside the bus escape. This was two weeks
ago. Again, the production design team here really had their game on and
gave us visual heraldry of a very strange time and place through an
interesting pictorial prism."

Episode 3 -
137 Sekunden
It's
the Third Week of FlashForward on ABC...
14
Min.
"The third week of
ABC’s new FlashForward arrives inside the television review halls of
Screen Rant.
The world view of what has taken place expands as we begin in a prison
in Munich, Germany, where a long-term prisoner named Geyer and a guard
begin a discussion that will change many lives and perspectives. What
will we find out this time? Will we garner more puzzle pieces that are
put in place or only glimpses at the 2 minutes and 17 seconds that had
almost all of us spent frozen three weeks ago?
I’ll be reviewing this and future episodes of FlashForward in an ironic
and incredibly-appropriate “stream of consciousness” format, giving you
essentially what I’m thinking as the show airs. I encourage everyone to
send feedback in regard to any of the points below and use this
opportunity as a sounding-off point to tell the Screen Rant team what
YOU think about this third episode of ABC’s FlashForward!
The secret knowledge of foreign language and subtitles: I know
that my viewpoint stems from a bias based on my continual hunt for open
and closed captions in the entertainment realm, but I LOVE to have
movies that feature partial subtitles. Here we meet an older inmate and
a familiar guard who talk about their lives, past current and future and
while it’s short, the information is passed along nicely in German which
is subtitled for the audience. Great stuff! The reason? For those of you
that don’t speak a particular language, the subtitles provided are a
glimpse into secret knowledge being conveyed on screen. Rather than
thinking of them as a hurdle to one’s movie-watching effort, think of
them as a bundle of information you wouldn’t have had otherwise and
you’ll see them in a whole new light."

-- Stunning Visuals That Open The Episode: As we enter this
episode of FlashForward, we're gifted with some astounding visuals of
planet Earth, from just outside of standard shuttle and space station
orbit and - just stunning. I'm eager to learn whether or not they're
pure CG or perhaps something from one of the many and final missions of

The
Intriguing Launch of FlashForward on ABC...
22
Min.
"A specific, untold 2
minutes and 17 seconds has been taunting future audiences for months
now. Tonight, we were finally served up not only a satisfyingly short
back story but a ton of future knowledge to come in ABC’s new series
FlashForward. The Screen Rant team is in the first row to offer you a
review of what is arguably one of 2009’s most anticipated Fall
television openings.
The FlashForward series opener, penned by comic book movie writer David
Goyer and Star Trek journeyman Brannon Braga, begins with a proverbial
smorgasbord of perspective. There were familiar faces: Joseph Fiennes,
John Cho (the new Sulu) and Sonya Walger (Penny from Lost)."
